Fresh Fire

This weekend I went to a worship conference and got to sing with the Grammy Award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir! It was an amazing, life changing experience.

We were were encouraged to get back to basics in our spiritual walk. To not focus on ourselves but to focus on others in service. It's not about us, it's about Jesus.  We can walk in His word and His Holy Spirit.  And to remember how much we are loved by Him and share that love with others.  I feel so refreshed and encouraged.  One of the speakers, Alvin Slaughter said something that resonated with me.  "The fear in your heart, will quench the fire in your spirit".  I can't get over how wonderful it was.  We were also asked the question, "What do you Worship?"  That true worship isn't just giving to God those things we don't want anyway (fear, anger). But true worship is offering to Him those things we love (our distractions, our time, our relationships, our possessions, our gifts and talents) and using it for His glory.  Wow, that's going to take faith and trust on my part, but I'm ready for the challenge.

The church is actually an old theater in Brooklyn.  I was a bit mesmerized by my surroundings, including the ceiling.

After we left the conference, of course we went downtown to Times Square.  I LOVE people watching.

Well, I made a little birthday card using American Crafts paper, Recollections Paper and doilies.  I like how it turned out.  Until next time.
